SCCC is proud to present awards to five Sonoma County leaders in recognition of their many years of dedication, focus and effective action in protecting the local environment.
Ernestine I. Smith Environmentalist of the Year awards to Craig Anderson, Lee Hackeling and Christine Fontaine for environmental education and connecting youth to the land.
The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Ernie Carpenter, former Sonoma County Supervisor, for his long-time conservation and social justice work in the county.
A Special Recognition award goes to John Fairbank, a dedicated volunteer working on protection of native biodiversity.
SCCC is also recognizing an Outstanding Environmental Program – the Sonoma Environmental Education Collaborative.
