On September 9, 2025 the Board of Directors voted to dissolve the Sonoma County Conservation Council after 40 years working to support and strengthen bonds within the Sonoma County environmental community.

Over the past year SCCC has been helping to develop a historical record of the environmental movement in Sonoma County and how the past connects with current issues. This work will be published and maintained on a new independent website called Enviro Chronicles which will also make accessible the SCCC Environmental Awards Program archives.

Additionally, envirochronicles.org will host the Environmental Groups Directory, the news aggregator Enviro Updates and Who to Call all previously provided by SCCC. The SCCC website scccenviro.org will be shut down as part of the SCCC dissolution with users referred on to Enviro Chronicles for helpful resources.
